Details:
Meet at Raymond Woods Pavilion inside Forest Park, look for SLELO signs (link to detailed map ).
Bring your own bagged lunch/beverages and dress for the weather as the entire event is outdoors. Forest Park has flat paved trails and is wheelchair accessible. Please don’t bring your pets to the event.
Learn about hemlock woolly adelgid, an invasive insect that kills hemlock trees and how to can help strengthen early detection efforts for this insect. You will be brought on a guided walk and talk on the public trails at Forest Park and be shown how to survey for signs of HWA on-site and learn to use the iMapInvasives mobile app to report both negative and positive sightings.

Attendees are encouraged to make a free iMapInvasives user account and download the iMap mobile app prior to attending the hike. By searching for and reporting observations, volunteers aid a state-wide effort to monitor for and manage HWA.
