This year we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day! April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans joined together to demand a new way forward for our planet. This movement is credited to launching the modern environmental movement and initiating the creation of many organizations. Instead of celebrating only on Wednesday the SLELO team will share updates with you all week on invasive species, what Earth Day means to us and how you can participate to protect all of nature, including humans, from the threat of invasive species and climate change.
Join us in celebrating the kickoff of Earth Week! Do you know what plants are growing in your yard? Chances are very good that among your favorite flowers and shrubs, there are some invasive species on your property! Check your backyard for invasives and share images of what you find on our Facebook Post !
