Hosted by our partners at the Capital Mohawk PRISM
Although it may be cold and snowy in the northeast, many pesky forest pests continue to persist throughout the winter months. Species, like emerald ash borer, find shelter in trees and enter a period of dormancy in the winter, then emerge and reproduce in the spring. Since these critters aren’t dead, moving firewood can easily transport these invaders to new areas. Join the Capital Region PRISM to learn more about identifying potentially infested trees and the best management practices when using firewood in the winter.
